Chapel History

The Chapel of the Annunciation started in 1978 during the princilpalship of the Revd, Canon (later Bishop) J.O.A Fabuluje with official registration of congregation as permanent members of the chapel on August 21. It was on September 24 that the inauguration of the Chapel took place. It was to provide a place of worhip to civil servants and professionals in Akure who prefered it to a traditional Anglican parish. It has since grown in leaps and bounds with English as its language of communication and worship.

After the tenure of Revd, Canon (later Bishop) Fabuluje, the following priests have subsequently served as its Vicar or incumbent priest in charge

The Ven. J.I. Ipinmoye

The Ven Prof. J Omosade Awolalu

The Ven Dr (now Bishop) S.O.M. Adebola

The Ven Dr (now Bishop) M.O. Fape

The Ven B.O. Adediran

The Venerable Dr Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi is its incumbent Vicar.
